What is Make Space? Make Space LLC is, at its core, a project management company. Individuals, companies, organizations and families hire us to get things done. We combine superb organizational strategies with energetic creativity to realize our client’s goals.

Who is Make Space? That’s me, way down there, driving that tractor. My name is Liz Dahmen and ever since I can remember I have been solving complicated problems with practical, down-to-earth solutions that are as creative as they are frugal. “Wait, it’s just you?” you may be thinking. Let me be more specific. I own the company, but I work with an amazing network of people from architects to IT experts, electricians to bike mechanics. Over the years I developed this nasty habit of being the person people would call when they didn’t know who to call. If I wasn’t the exact right person for the job, then chances were I knew who was, and I would call them. I turned this into a business model.

What does Make Space do? We get things done. We finish projects. We start, and then finish, projects.

80% of the time these projects have to do with space. Actual space, not cyber space; moving, packing, and unpacking. Redesigning. Making spaces more efficient and user-friendly. Helping people share space. Making space for new things, kids, offices, equipment. We’re mad about space.

10% of the time projects are about objects. Tracking objects, itemizing objects. Deciding whether or not objects should go here, or there. The final

10% of the projects we work on have to do with time. Using time efficiently, and making more time. Helping clients (that’s right, companies, families, individuals) improve their relationship with time so that they are in control and not vice-verse. Sometimes it’s just that you don’t have enough time to finish a project your started, so we finish it for you.

How much will it cost? Exactly as much as a project is worth. No more, no less. You tell me what you want done and how much you’re willing to spend and if I think I can make it happen, we’ll work together. If I can’t make it happen in your price range, I’ll outline why and give you options. We’re always working towards a win-win.

Is it true that you organize field trips? Yes. Field trips for freelancers. We organize field trips for freelancers (and their friends) because one of the biggest things that freelancers suffer from is isolation and burnout. Through field trips (yep, just like in grade school) we help to foster community, inspire creativity and rejuvenate the growing number of mobile workers in NYC.
